EUROSAF MATCH RACING YOUTH OPEN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – day 2

What a great day that was yesterday! ⛵️

Yesterday morning the ten teams of “Eurosaf Youth Open Match Racing European Championship” began the procedures around 10am, the splendid condition of Lake Ledro allowed to conclude the “King of the Castle”, the quarters and semi-finals.

Matches to win the title are ongoing, the class is between the Danish team helmed by Joachim Aschenbrenner and Australian Will Boulden, competing for third and fourth place are the two Italian teams, captains by Ettore Botticini and Rocco Attili.

EUROSAF MATCH RACING YOUTH OPEN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP – day 1

“Eurosaf Match Racing Youth Open European Championship” has started yesterday, hosted by Associazione Vela Lago di Ledro.

Welcomed by the local public, the athletes have made their entry in Müllheim square preceded by the young sailors of the club. After the entrance of the Italian flag and the one of the Eurosaf, Eurosaf’s Vice President Oleg Ilyin declared open the European Championship, followed by speeches by local authorities and the athlete and judge’s oaths, both have sworn to abide by the rules and adopt a proper sporting conduct.
In testa alla classifica c’è il team danese capitanato da Joachim Aschenbrenner seguito dallo svedese Victor Abenius completa il podio temporaneo l’australiano Will Boulden. Quarto è il team italiano con al timone Ettore Botticini, seguono i due teams francesi capitanati da Victor Migraine e Charles Capon. Settimi sono gli italiani capitanati da Rocco Attili, seguiti dagli inglesi di Thomas Williams, concludono la classifica gli svizzeri di Mathieu Cadei e i portoghesi di Pedro Brito. Today, good conditions have allowed the ten teams to compete until late afternoon thus concluding the round robin. Leading the scoring is the Danish team led by Joachim Aschenbrenner followed by Swedish Victor  Abenius and Australian Will Boulden. Fourth is the Italian team of Ettore Botticini, following the two French teams led by Victor Migraine and Charles Capon. Sevenths are Italians led by Rocco Attili, followed by the British Thomas Williams, last positions for Swiss Mathieu Cadei and the Portuguese Pedro Brito.

The appomtment is  for tomorrow at the Club at 9.00.

European Match Race Championship under 23 will start today, from tomorrow ten team will fight to conquer the title.

The appointment is for tonight at 20.45 in piazza Müllheim for the Opening Ceremony.

CLINIC MATCH RACE U19

Yesterstay ended the Match Race under 19 Clinic  attended by 19 young sailors. The Clinic was organized by the Italian Sailing Federation, under the supervision of Giorgio Davanzo and Luigi Bertini.

O.M. Match Race Gr. 2 – FINAL

 

 

Today ended the seventh edition of “O.M. INTERNATIONAL LEDRO – MATCH RACE gr.2 “.

After finishing the round robin with 11 wins and 0 defeats,  Mati Sepp  from Estonia found as direct opponent for the final the last year’s winner, Dejan Presen from Slovenia. For the third position the fight was between Polish Marek Stanczyk and the Finn Olli-Pekka Lumijärvi. As last year, the Polish team won the bronze medal, Presen took the silver, and Sepp concluded the final unbeaten. After the prize giving ceremony the Club welcomed the boys under-19 starting match racing clinic organized by the Italian Sailing Federation, and it will finish on Wednesday evening when the Club will welcome the older guys to participate all’Eurosaf European Youth Championship which will end on Sunday . 10 European nations will be represented.

O.M. Match Race Gr. 2 – DAY 1

This morning, after the skippers’s meeting, the twelve teams started the operations on the water; it was possible to complete 37 matches of the round robin. After these matches the team of Mati Sepp (from Estonia) is leading the league, before the team of Dejan Presen, Slovenia, the winner of OM INTERNATIONAL 2015 that is preceding the Finnish Olli-Pekka Lumijärvi. Forth the Polish team with Marek Stanczyk as skipper that will try to get on the podium as last year. Following the Swiss team of Nelson Mettraux, that will be again AVLL’s guest for the “Eurosaf University European Youth Championship Match Race” as coach of the Swiss team. Sixth, sharing the same position with Australian Will Boulden, that , as well will be at next week event as sailor, Swiss Doré De Morsier.
Follows the Slovinian Bojan Rajar, and that, separated by few points, the joung team of Swedish Victor Abenius. Victor will be, as well, a competior next week. Same point for the team of Mathias Rebholz, Germany. The scoring is completed by the two French team of Helene Urrutti, with an international female team, and Sylvain Escurat.
The next skipper’s meeting is booked al 9 o’clock.
